KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Tim Williams grew up in his family’s staffing business and is now helping to drive new growth as the general manager of the Kansas City office of Apprentice Personnel.
Williams brought 15 years of direct staffing experience to his role, though his family was in the business for more than four decades.
“Kansas City is primed to have an outstanding 2014 in the temporary staffing market,” Williams said. “We are already seeing the labor market tighten back up in multiple verticals that we are currently operating in and others that we have a strong desire to be in.”
The recovering economy, along with the introduction of the Affordable Care Act, has created what Williams views as the “perfect storm” for the staffing industry.
“Apprentice Personnel is very excited about the opportunity that is in front of us to not only be a vendor for our clients, but to also become more of a partner in their business model,” he said.
“Though the last several years have been challenging at times for companies to navigate, it has become apparent that the staffing industry is going to take on a larger role in many companies’ operating practices. Where we were once viewed as a vendor, we are often times now looked at as an extension of their company.”
Since joining Apprentice Personnel, Williams has hired Mark Salmen as a staffing consultant and Michael Childers as a recruiter. The Kansas City operation also employs Patti Clark as senior operations coordinator.
In his previous roles, Williams served as the general manager at Construction Labor Contractors, as an area manager with Snelling Staffing, and as a district manager with Encore Staffing Services/ Spencer Reed Group, LLC.
Apprentice Personnel is one of the largest independent staffing firms in Kansas and has been in business for more than 20 years. The company also has locations in Wichita, Kan., and Colorado Springs, Colo.
