General Manager – Wichita, KS

GENERAL SUMMARY

The General Manager is responsible for the daily leadership and direction of the business and sales activities of a branch office of Apprentice Personnel.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1.       Represent Apprentice Personnel (“AP”) to client companies, vendors, applicants and temporary workers that contact a branch office

2.       Represent AP in local community with appropriate trade associations and business groups

3.       Manage daily demands of branch office

4.       Manage the sales effort of the office to include personal selling and the deployment of Staffing Consultants

5.       Ensure proper assignment of temporary workers to meet needs of client companies

6.       Manage the administrative functions of the office to include client billings, accounts receivable follow-up, and sales data entry

7.       Interact with temporary workers and assign workers to job orders placed by client companies

8.       Interview prospective workers and determine qualifications of applicants

9.       Conduct background checks and drug testing of workers if required by client companies

10.     Generate time tickets for temporary workers

11.     Distribute payroll checks to temporary workers

12.     Other duties as assigned.

 

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

 

1.       Excellent communication skills, including the ability to use correct grammar, spelling, and syntax.

2.       Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact positively with clients and temporary workers.

3.       Exceptional organizational skills with emphasis on prioritizing work and meeting deadlines. Ability to pay close attention to details and balance workload from multiple sources. Ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks.

4.       Minimum 3-5 years of  staffing industry or like experience in a management or supervisory position.

5.       Ability to read, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions accurately.

6.       Proficient with computers, word processing, and graphics design; (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

7.       Ability to exercise personal judgment, discretion, confidentiality, decision-making, and initiative concerning administrative matters and priorities.

8.       Ability to work with minimal supervision and be flexible as work demands change.
